Home for Aged and Infirm holds AGM

JAMMU, Nov 25: Home for the Aged and Infirm, Amphalla, held its Annual General Meeting (AGM) here today under the chairmanship of its president, Dwarka Nath Gupta.
A large number of the members of the Society attended the meeting.
During the meeting, the annual report and audited accounts for the year 2011-12, presented by secretary, Vijay Kumar Bhagotra, were adopted by the House.
The House appreciated the sincere efforts put by the managing committee in general and secretary in particular for improvement in over all functioning of the Home and living conditions of its inmates.
Vice-president of the Society, Prof Vidhya Nath Gupta appealed the general public for liberal donations in cash and kind on regular basis for day to day needs of the inmates and further improvement in their facilities and amenities.
The donations to the Home are exempted from income tax u/s 80g (V) of the Income tax Act 196, he informed.
He also expressed gratitude to Social Welfare Department, J&K Government for grant-in-aid amounting to Rs 75000 as well as the Governor of the State for financial assistance amounting to Rs 100000 during the year 2011-12.
Prof Gupta informed that a recreation centre for senior citizens has been set up in the Home, which provides facilities like TV, library, indoor games, etc. He appealed the senior citizens to avail this facility. He further appealed the public at large to visit the Home at their convenience and interact with the inmates so that they do not feel neglected by the society.
