JAMMU, Aug 19: Honnash of KC Public School, Jammu bagged triple gold, while Sasya Safaya of the same school clinched double gold in the Jammu District Inter-School competitions in the disciplines of swimming, basketball and tennis ball cricket, which got underway at various venues, here today.
While swimming Under-19 boys began at KC Public School, the competition in basketball Under-19 boys was held at Mini Stadium Parade and the trials in tennis ball cricket Under-19 boys and girls were held at Government Girls Higher Secondary School Bakshi Nagar, Jammu.
The competitions are being held under the overall supervision of Tirath Ram, District Youth Services and Sports Officer, Jammu.
Earlier, Honnash claimed gold in 50 mtr breast stroke, 100 mtr breast stroke and 200 mtr breast stroke, while Sasya bagged gold in 50 mtr free style and 100 mtr free style.
The silver medal in 50 and 100 mtr breast stroke went to Abhishek of KC Public School, while the silver medal in 50 mtr free style went to Ahmed Bikram of Delhi Public School and Pranshu of Heritage School. Ahmed Bikram of Delhi Public School also claimed silver in 100 mtr free style.
In 50 mtr back stroke, Neerab Gupta of KC Public School clinched gold, Rohan of KC International School bagged silver and Aditya of KC Public School claimed bronze, while in 400 mtr free style, Mudit Gupta bagged gold, while Pranshu of Heritage School claimed silver.
In Under-17 boys, 50 mtr back stroke, Hardik of JMPS, Aditya of KCPS and Jatin of Heritage claimed gold, silver and bronze respectively, while in Under-17 boys, 100 mtr back stroke, the first three place were claimed by Stanzin, Rasagya and Adhar Koul (all from KCPS) bagged first three places respectively.
Sidhant Sharma of DPS, Nabhaya Saraf of Jodhamal and Ukshay of JKPS bagged gold, silver and bronze in boys Under-17 free style, while in Under17 boys 50 mtr butterfly, Adhar Koul of KCPS bagged gold, Adarsh Yadav of Banyan claimed silver and Vishesh Jamwal of JMPS bagged bronze medal.
In Under-14 girls, 50 mtr back stroke, Shreya of KCPS, Sarah of Heritage and Ashmita of JMPS claimed gold, silver and bronze respectively, while in Under-14 girls 50 mtr breast stroke Rohini Singh of APS, Vaishali of JMPS and Ishita of Banyan bagged first three places respectively.
Sabha Jamwal of JMPS claimed gold in 100 mtr free style Under-14 girls, while Shreya of KCPS and Akshita of KCPS bagged silver and bronze medal respectively.
In basketball Under-19 boys, DPS defeated Heritage by (16-5), MHAC Nagbani thrashed GD Goenka by (27-8), Air Force School got better of SOS by (18-12), MIER trounced BSF Paloura by (27-6), SRML drubbed JKP Miran Sahib and MIER prevailed over KC International in close contest by (15-14).
Meanwhile, a good number of boys and girls drawn from various schools of Jammu district attended the trials in Under-19 tennis ball cricket at Government Girls Higher Secondary School Bakshi Nagar, Jammu.
