Hooda announces Rs 10 cr financial aid for J&K flood victims

CHANDIGARH :  Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda has announced financial assistance of Rs 10 crore for the flood ravaged Jammu and Kashmir.    Mr Hooda also flagged off seven trucks of relief material, including 50,000 blankets, 10,000 nylon plastic sheets, medicines and food items, for the affected people from his New Delhi residence today.
The Chief Minister said such natural calamity had never been witnessed before in Jammu and Kashmir and Haryana would extend all possible help to mitigate the suffering of the people of the state in their hour of need.    The Chief Minister also lauded the efforts of Indian Army in out the relief and rescue operations in Jammu and Kashmir.    He said in this hour of crisis, everyone should come forward and extend help to the people of valley.    The state government has also appointed Principal Secretary, Social Justice and Empowerment Department P K Das as the Nodal Officer of State for efficient handling of relief assistance.
