Horizon Club lifts T20 Christmas Celebrations Cup

JAMMU, Dec 22: Horizon Cricket Club trounced Vridhi Royals by six wickets in the summit clash and lifted title Christmas Celebrations Cup, being played at KC Sports Club, here today.
Batting first Vridhi Royals scored 129 runs for the loss of all wickets in 19.4 overs with Sahil Lalotra 27 runs, Sanoop Bhagat 22 runs and Archit 14 runs. From the bowling side, Vivrant took four wickets, Bandeep Singh bagged three wickets, while Sampark, Veenu and Savan clinched one wicket each.
In reply Horizon Cricket Club chased the target in 17.5 overs by losing only four wickets, thus won the match by six wickets. Akshit and Bandeep were the main batsmen who scored 73 and 34 runs respectively. From the bowling side, Sannat took two wickets while Sanoop took one wicket.
Akshit was declared as man of the match in final and best batsman, Paras Sharma declared best bowler while Bandeep Singh was declared as man of the series for his all round performance. The matches were officiated by Ashok, Sanju and Vijay.
Ashok Bhan former Director General of Police J&K was the chief guest whereas Ashvinder Koul former Ranji player was the guest of honour. The chief guest distributed the trophies among the runners and winners in the presence of Ashvinder Koul, Rajesh Gill, Arjun Choudhary, Sudhir Singh, Ashish Singh and Sanjeev Sharma.
While addressing on valedictory function, the chief guest said, “Physical fitness & agility is the basic necessity for a cricketer in the present cricket scenario.”
The tournament was jointly organized by members of Indian Cricket Association & KC Sports Club, supported by Horizon Sports Club and The Game Changer Sports Club. The objective of the tournament was to celebrate Christmas together through T20 Cricket.
The event was coordinated by Rajesh Gill senior cricketer, member of Indian Cricket Association. Ashvinder Koul also spoke on the occasion and appreciated the role of Rajesh Gill for regularly conducting cricket matches for all cricketers.
