Housing Board Daily Rated workers protest for regularisation

JAMMU, Jan 15: Demanding regularisation, members of Daily Rated Workers Union of J&K Housing Board today held a protest demonstration in front of the office of the Managing Director J&K Housing Board, Gandhi Nagar.
The protest was organised under the leadership of Mohd Farooq, State president of Housing Board Employees Association. The protesting workers raised slogans in support of their demand for regularization.
Addressing the protest demonstration, Mohd Farooq asked the Government to immediately fill up the vacant posts by absorbing Daily Wagers without pick and choose.
Suraj Parkash, president of Daily Rated Workers Union, rued that the Government was not addressing the grievances of poor class employees. He also asked the Board management to fill up the vacant posts by Daily Rated Workers who are on seniority. There is no need of a Government nod for the same as the Housing Board has its own resources, he added.
Suman Sharma, general secretary of the Board Employees also addressed the protest demonstration, which will be staged for the second consecutive day tomorrow.
