JAMMU, Mar 5: Himachal Pradesh defeated J&K by a margin of 49 runs in the ongoing Vijay Hazare Trophy One-Day Cricket Tournament at Jamia Millia Cricket Ground, Delhi.
Earlier, batting first, Himachal Pradesh scored 229 runs in 49.4 overs. N Gangta scored magnificent 99 runs off 116 balls, with 8 fours and one six, while Rishi Dhawan contributed 45 runs to the total. Paras Dogra and P Chopra chipped in with 25 and 23 runs to the total respectively. For J&K, skipper Parvez Rasool was the pick of the bowlers, who took 2 important wickets by conceding 43 runs in his 12 overs, while Ramdayal, Waseem Raza and Raman Dutta also bagged 2 wickets each by conceding 40, 50 and 52 runs in 9.4, 9 and 10 overs respectively.
In reply, J&K bundled out for 180 runs in 43 overs, thus lost the match by 49 runs. Bandeep Singh was the top scorer with 43 runs, while Aditya Pratap Singh, Parvez Rasool and Ian Dev Singh contributed 29, 28 and 19 runs to the total. Hardeep Singh also chipped in with 16 runs off 21 balls. Viramjeet Malik, Bipul Sharma and Karanveer Singh bagged 2 wickets each, while Rishi Dhawan and Gurvinder Singh claimed one wicket each. J&K will take on Haryana in their last match tomorrow.
