NAHAN, Mar 2: Following the footsteps of Punjab, Himachal Pradesh is all set to organise Circle Style Kabaddi Championship at Poanta Sahib this year.
A decision to this effect was taken recently by HP Immature Kabaddi Association in a meeting held at Bilaspur under the chairmanship of Association state president Kuldip Rana.
Poanta station was selected for having more Sikh population and Punjabi community residents, Mr Rana informed. He hoped that people of the area would show interest in the new Kabaddi style.
State General Secretary Heera Singh assured to extend all assistance for the success of game in which players from all districts would participate. He said the dates would be declared later, but the championship would be played in the middle of this year.
Circle Kabaddi is different from common Kabaddi as the game is played in a circle having four players of each team with two extra players, Mr Singh informed.
He further explained that during the game, only one player can catch the other when going for raid and in case two players touch the raider, both of them are declared out. (UNI)
