JAMMU, Apr 16: Humanity Public School (HPS) has officially launched Bharat Scouts and Guides programme, aimed at nurturing leadership, teamwork and community engagement among students.
The programme began with a welcome ceremony for the Bharat Scouts and Guides members from Gandhi Nagar headquarters. School Principal Gaurav Charak, Vice Principal Anku Charak, Administrative Officer Ravinder Sadhu and High Wing Incharge Namrta Sharma led the welcome. Shivani Bandral, Lecturer in Hindi and the concerned teacher for Scouts and Guides, extended greetings to the guests and the school administration.
Administrative Officer Ravinder Sadhu highlighted the programme’s objective to awaken students to their full potential. He said the initiative promotes holistic development, interdependence and problem-solving skills for a brighter future.
Manjeet (Lt. STC) educated the students about the Scouts and Guides movement, calling it a global opportunity. She said scouting teaches self-reliance and prepares children to live independently beyond parental care.
Principal Gaurav Charak shared that students will engage in activities like outdoor adventures, skill-building, and community service. He emphasized its role in building leadership and responsibility. Over 100 students have already registered, with numbers expected to reach 500 soon. The launch coincided with the school’s 44th Foundation Day, making the occasion memorable for the newly enrolled Scouts and Guides.
