JAMMU, Sept 8: Humanity Public School (HPS) Bassi Kalan, Bari Brahmana, in collaboration with the J&K Pollution Control Committee, organized an interactive session on air pollution control titled “Clean Air for the Blue Sky.” The event, held in the school’s Multipurpose Hall, aimed to raise awareness about environmental challenges and inspire students to act as ambassadors for cleaner air.
The session featured informative speeches from students, including Gayatri Singh Charak, Ishika, Manyata Billowria, Bhumika Charak and Gurvinder Kumar, who discussed pollutants such as smoke, fog and greenhouse gases contributing to global warming. The interactive format encouraged students to brainstorm solutions for minimizing pollution in their daily lives.
Anil Kumar Sharma, Divisional Officer of the Pollution Control Committee and the event’s chief guest, emphasized the urgent need to control pollution and protect the environment. He urged students to adopt sustainable practices and highlighted that lasting change would only come through a “humane revolution.”
Special guests Pankaj Chadha and Naveed Chowdhary, Field Inspectors of Bari Brahmana, were also present. The event concluded with a vote of thanks from Ravinder Sadhu, the School Administration Officer, and expressing gratitude to the J&K Pollution Control Committee for organizing the enlightening session.
