JAMMU, Oct 6: Humming Buds the pre-school of MIER organized its Annual Sports Day at its B.C Road Campus here today. Around 99 toddlers from both B.C Road and Residency Road branches of the school participated in various events organized on the occasion.
Dushyant Sharma, Superintendent of Police and a wrestler of international repute and alumni of Model Academy school was the chief guest on the occasion. Dr. Arun Gupta, Chairman MIER, was the guest of honour. Other dignitaries present on the occasion were Dr. Renu Gupta, Director, MIER, Dr. Adit Gupta Jt. Director, Dr. Ankur Gupta, Jt. Director, Rupa Gupta, Chitra Mishra, Principal Model Academy and Usha Gadoo, Vice Principal, Model Academy. The sports meet was declared open by lighting the torch by the chief guest.
Ruchika Gupta, Project Director Humming Buds presented welcome address. This was followed by an Aerobics drill and a scintillating display of the martial art form Karate.
Dr Arun K. Gupta while speaking on the occasion explained the novel pedagogical philosophy of Humming Buds and apprised the parents on the new developments in infrastructure and services in recent times.
The chief guest Dushyant Sharma in his address lauded the efforts of the team Humming Buds in organizing the sports meet & for instilling the spirit of sportsmanship & competitiveness in the young Buds.He later presented medals of honour and certificates to the winners.
Special races were also organised for the parents.The fathers participated in “Knot the Tie” Race & the mothers in “Lemon Spoon” race. Special trophies were awarded to the winning parents as well. Suruchi gave the vote of thanks and Usha Chunni Sports Officer conducted the entire programme.
