KATHUA, May 18: The hunger strike of CP workers of PHE Department entered second day in support of their genuine demands.
Nearly one hundred CP workers of Billawer and Bani Sub Divisions sat on hunger strike in the premises of Executive Engineer PHE Kathua in support of their demands.
The Eleven workers sat on hunger strike since yesterday supported by 112 CP workers of Billawar and Bani raised slogans in favour of their demands and against the Government.
President of CP workers Mohan Lal said that the CP workers are discriminated by the PHE Department as the department has not paid them salaries for the past four years. He said that these CP workers are working in PHE Department for the past 12 years, but unfortunately their data has not been put online and also they are not included in Aadhar based Bio-Metric attendance system.
“The status of CP workers is now changed as part time labourer after 12 years of working and no facilities are being provided to them like other division CP workers”, he added.
We will continue our hunger strike, till the Government release out pending salaries and redress other issues, he stated.
