JAMMU, Dec 20: Inter-Block District Level (IBDL) YSS Cup-2021 competitions, being organized by Department of Youth Services and Sports, got underway at Majalata and other blocks in Udhampur, today.
The competitions are scheduled on pool basis at Block headquarters Majalta, Chanunta, Khoon, Latti and Marothi in the sports disciplines including Kabaddi, Volleyball, Kho-Kho and Cricket under the age group of 25 years in both male and female categories.
Juhi Manhas DDC Vice-Chairperson district Udhampur was the chief guest who declared open the tournament, while Amit Sharma, DDC Member Majalta was the special guest on the occasion.
The competitions are being held under the patronageship of Alok Kumar, Principal Secretary Youth Services & Sports, J&K and overall supervision of Gazanfar Ali, Director, YS&S and under the supervision of DYSSO Udhampur, Swaran Singh.
In Volleyball, Block Majalta defeated Block Khoon by 2-0 sets, while Ramnagar got better of Kulwanta by 2-1 sets and Basantgarh trounced Latti Marothi by 2-0 sets, besides Ramnagar defeated Parli Dhar by 2-0 sets in women category.
In Kabaddi, Majalta beat Khoon by 36-14 points and Latti Marothi defeated Block Basantgarh by 36-12 points, whereas in Kho-Kho, Majalta got better of Khoon by 13-9 points, besides in Cricket, Chanunta defeated Block Ghordi by 42 runs and Kulwanta trounced Ramnagar by 19 runs
Surinder Singh (Sarpanch), Tirath Ram (Vice-Sarpanch), Manoj Kumar (Sarpanch), Satish Kumar (ZEPO) and Kartar Singh (ZEPO) were present during the event.
