JAMMU, June 25: International Cricket Club (ICC) and Kishan Chand Cricket Club registered easy victories over their rivals to consolidate their positions in the ongoing Chevrolet Cricket Cup 2014 tournament sponsored by KC Motors Jammu and being played at KC Public School ground adjacent to KC Sports Club.
Earlier, International Cricket Club defeated Wave Cricket Club by 69 runs in an easy contest. ICC opted to bat first and posted a mammoth total of 203 in 20 overs, losing 5 wickets in the process. Atul and Ankush scored brilliant 79 and 51 runs respectively. For Wave CC, Parkash, Arun and Bunny claimed one wicket each.
In reply, WCC managed to score 134 for the loss of 9 wickets in 20 overs, thus lost the match by 69 runs. Virjinder Singh and Arun scored 22 and 20 runs for their side. Arjun, Rajeev and Aman of ICC took 2 wickets each, while Ankush and Vicky claimed 1 wicket each. Ankush of ICC was declared man of the match for his knock of 51 runs and 1wicket. Abhijyot Singh Bedi, Sohail Yusuf and Vinod were the officials of the match.
In another match, KCCC thrashed Aarav Mahajan Cricket Club by 7 wickets in a one-sided affair. Batting first, AMCC collapsed at 78 runs in 19.3 overs. Bablu was the only batsman to cross double figure mark, scoring 23 runs in 31 balls. Leg-spinner, Manik Gupta of KCCC took 4 important wickets, while Tribhuvan and Bandeep Singh shared 2 wickets each. Sahil Sharma and Soumay Jain also claimed 1 wicket each.
In reply, KCCC surpassed the target by scoring 81 runs for the loss of 3 wickets in 7.3 overs, thus won the match by 7 wickets. Bandeep Singh scored a magnificent half century (51) off just 23 balls, which fetched him man of the match award. Manik Gupta contributed 12 runs to the winning total. Anchal, Shiva and Vicky took 1 wicket each for AMCC.
Abhijyot Singh Bedi, Sandeep Manchanda and Sohail Yusuf were the officials of the match.
