JAMMU, Feb 4: International Delhi Public School (IDPS) Jammu Chess Fiesta organized in collaboration with All J&K Chess Association concluded at IDPS Jammu, here today.
Around 180 players from 40 schools participated in it. Events were held in U-10, U-13 and U-16 categories for both boys and girls besides Open Men and Women categories. Cash prizes worth Rs 75000 were distributed among the winners through DBT.
Prizes were distributed by Atul Kumar Gupta, joint secretary AICF and also working president AJKCA alongwith Baldev Raj President AJKCA, Madhu Abrol School manager and Senior Player SP Sharma. Anil Kotwal was chief arbiter of the event while FA Bindu Pathania, Arvindu Sharma, Madhu Abrol and others provided technical support.
Sumit Grover won in open category while Akash Bhatia was runner-up and Ravi Sharma got 3rd place. In open Women category Alankrita Sharma won the event while Ahana Gupta was runner up and Sonali Manhas got 3rd place. In U-16 Boys section Lakshya Choudhary won the event while Anubhav Dubey got 2nd and Aarush Sharma 3rd place. In U-16 Girls Ashwiina Raina won the event while Muskan Razak got 2nd and Vibhuti clinched 3rd place.
In U-13 Boys Anurag Singh won the event while Sahil Mahajan got 2nd and Samyak Jain got 3rd place. In U-13 Girls Kanika Rana won the event while Palak Mahajan got 2nd and Mehreen got 3rd place.
In U-10 Boys Paras Sharma won the event while Athrav Aethmea got 2nd and Nidhir Nagar got 3rd place. In U-10 Girls Aaradhya Kotwal won the event while Aarvi Andotra got 2nd and Reha Chawan 3rd place.
