IECS Polytechnic organizes lectures, workshops, field visits

JAMMU, Mar 25: IECS Polytechnic organized extension lecture, workshops and field visits, in which students from various departments took part actively.
Students of Civil Engineering and Mechanical Engineering Department visited Water Treatment Plant, Sitlee, Nagrota, Boria Treatment Plant and other construction works in and around Jammu city. During visit, Sudesh Bhagat, Assistant Executive Engineer explained how raw water has been made fit for drinking purposes by removing various impurities.
A seminar on “Net Technologies and Career Options in IT Sector”, was conducted by Manish Badyal, Center Head, HCL and Karan, an expert from HCL Infosystem Limited, J&K.
Another workshop on “Computer Networking and Networking Devices” was conducted by Munish Pathania, director, IIHT with his team of experts.
Students of Electronics and Communication Department visited 92.7 FM, where Vikrant Sharma, Cluster Head and Ashish Sharma, Station Engineer explained the control strategies to broadcast various live shows.
They also visited Samsung Smart Care Center and got exposure to chip designing, LCD, LED and Laptop control panels.
An extension lecture on “Adolescent Education with Life Skills” was also organized, during which Psychologist Samvedna Sharma discussed the problems of adolescence.
Meanwhile, a seminar was organized on “World Water Day”, in which papers were presented on conservation of water resources by Rajnish Magotra, Dean Academics, Asha Verma, senior lecturer and 6th semester students of Civil Department.
Prof KG Gupta, Principal, IECS Polytechnic and Ajay Jamwal, Dean Administration appreciated the initiative by the faculty and keen interest shown by the students in all these activities.
