The heading of my column ‘ IFTAAR PARTY WITH PAMPORE BLOOD ‘ may sound you strange before going through the complete article. And perhaps it was first of its kind dinner party which was enjoyed by the participants amid blood bath.
The story goes like this. On 24th of June 2016, at least eight CRPF personnel were killed and 20 others were critically injured in a deadly attack carried by militants in Pampore area of Kashmir valley.
On the very next day Pakistan High Commission for India Mr Abdul Basit had organized an Iftaar Party at Delhi . When he was asked by a group of media persons for his comments on Pampore attack in which eight human beings had lost their lives and dozens of others were lying in a pool of blood, instead of saying some formal words in sympathies with the families of deceased, Mr Basit uttered a bizarre comment saying that “ let us enjoy the party”. I have never heard such an outrageous comment from even an insane person during my whole life so far on such situations. Even I have never heard such comment from any army commander in Jammu and Kashmir whenever they carried successful operations against militants.
I know intentions of Pakistan very well . I can understand that Pakistan always enjoys such situations when security personnel of India are killed in terror attacks or on LoC and international border (IB) with Pakistan but even then no body expects such comments from any sensible or responsible person of Pakistan society and government. I was literarily shocked to see such an insane comment from Pakistan High Commission in Delhi . To my opinion, when he was asked to comment on the incident he should have at least expressed his sympathies with the families of soldiers killed in the attack adding that Kashmir issue was responsible for such blood shed . This would have been a sensible comment at least. I am unable to understand that what type of Islam these people were projecting and representing .
And I don’t think such an insane person deserves to be an ambassador of any country and such a person can create any good will between the country he represents and the country he is posted in.
On the other hand, Indian politicians are also not doing anything good to their own nation and country men . Each time whenever any such incident takes place anywhere in country whether it is north east or Kashmir, the Indian politicians say that they are proud of their sacrifices for the sake of Nation. But my point is for how much times the Indian politicians will feel proud to be the neighbor of Bhagat Singh’s mother. Why they have not created any self example of Bhagat Singh . I don’t understand why Indian intelligentsia is not asking the politicians of the country to stop condemnation ritual on killings and stop provoking the sons of neighbors to get sacrificed for nation. Instead, either they should send their own sons to the battle field or should sort out the issues responsible for such killings . Now enough is enough . It is better to sort out the issues sincerely responsible for killings of sons of poor . And if Indian leadership is capable of teaching a lesson to those responsible for such killings then why they are hesitating to move forward and end the practice of blood shed once for all .
