IGP asks officers to eradicate menace of drugs, follow traffic rules

SAMBA, June 7: Inspector General of Police (IGP) Jammu Danesh Rana asked the officers to eradicate the menace of drugs from society which has captured young generation. He also sought recommendation for reward to the officers and officials, who had done good work in recovery of narcotics and drugs.
He was speaking during a meeting with the officers and officials of District Police Samba, which was held at District Police Line, Shah Balode, here.
The meeting was organized with a view to have thorough discussion about the problems being faced by officers and officials and to impart important instructions to them.
Joginder Singh, SSP Samba, Adil Hamid, Additional SP Samba, DySP DAR DPL Samba, DySP HQ Samba, SDPOs Vijaypur and Bari-Brahmna, DySP Operations Samba, all SHOs, Incharge PPs and BPPs, NGOs, jawans and SPOs of DPL and other Police units including DPO Samba were present in the meeting.
DySP DAR DPL Samba presented the welcome address and Additional SP Samba made some briefing about the motive of conducting the meeting.
Joginder Singh, SSP Samba highlighted the welfare measures taken for the welfare of officers and jawans of District Samba and also pin-pointed some good works done by the officers and officials of District Samba. He also projected the problems being faced by them in performing day-to-day duties.
The jawans were asked to put forward their grievances wherein some officials raised various issues including transfers.
During interaction, Danesh Rana asked the participants to strictly follow the uniform pattern, keep themselves well maintained, disciplined and alert while performing duties on each deployment.
He also asked them to follow all the traffic rules such as wearing of helmets, seat belts, avoid use of mobile phones while driving, avoid triple and rash driving and without registration numbers of their vehicles so that public could not pinpoint any violation by the police personnel.
IGP Jammu directed all the officers and jawans to perform their duties with dedication and not to undertake any such action which can degrade the image of police in the eyes of general public.
In the end, Additional SP, Samba presented vote of thanks.
Later, IGP Jammu also conducted meeting of all Supervisory Officers, SHOs, Incharge PPs of District Samba at DPO Samba and imparted necessary instructions in view of forthcoming important events.
