Lawn Tennis tourney concludes

JAMMU, Feb 21: 10 days long Lawn Tennis tournament, organised by Jai Hind Sports Club culminated at J&K Police Gazetted Officer Mess Gulshan Ground, here today.
IGP Jammu, Mukesh Singh was the chief guest of the prize distribution function. He distributed prizes and medals among the winner and runner-ups.
Speaking on the occasion, the IGP said that J&K Police is committed to encourage sports in all forms and hoped that the participants of this tournament would in future lead the JK Tennis team at the national level and even at the international level.
He said that Jammu and Kashmir has some brilliant coaches who could help shape up the budding talent in Tennis. He also appreciated the role of officers of BSF, CRPF and ED who were present at the court during the final match of the tournament.
The event was attended by sports enthusiasts and players who were all praise for the initiative and grand success of this tournament.
The matches were organised under four different categories.
The winner and runner up trophies of under-18 category were clinched by Aryan and Ranveer respectively, whereas in mens doubles category, Vikram Gupta and Co Dhirendra Verma were the winners and Deepak Singh and Savant Koul were runner up and in above-35 years, Vikram Gupta and Pawan were the winners besides in mens singles Deepak Singh and Aaryaman clinched winner and runner-up trophies respectively.
