IGP emphasizes on making ANTF a highly specialized wing

JAMMU, July 21: Inspector General of Police (IGP) Crime J&K Manish Sinha visited Anti Narcotics Task Force (ANTF) Headquarters at Gandhi Nagar and interacted with the officers and staff.
He congratulated the team for back to back successes in nabbing inter-state narco smugglers and seizure of huge quantity of contrabands.
IGP reviewed the under investigation cases and stressed upon strict compliance to the guidelines laid down by the Supreme Court and also strict adherence of the SPO as issued by Crime Headquarters for NDPSA cases regarding basic like maintaining the chain of custody of seized contrabands, etc.
While reviewing the working of this newly created unit, IG emphasized on making ANTF a highly specialized wing dealing with the menace of drugs.
He stressed upon thorough professional investigations in NDPSA cases strictly according to the laid down law so that the rate of convictions in such cases improves significantly and all dimensions of these organized nexus are exposed and are taken to their lawful destinies.
“ANTF should work in close coordination with other stakeholders like NCB, DRI and others for improved results”, he added.
IG assured to take up the pending issues of ANTF with Government and PHQ.
