SRINAGAR, Aug 10: In order to assess the status of the Srinagar-Jammu National Highway vis-à-vis restoration work and steps taken to ensure smooth flow of traffic, Jagjit Kumar, IGP Traffic paid a visit to Qazigund, Banihal, Ramban and Udhampur areas of the National Highway.
During the visit, the officer interacted with the officials of different road maintenance agencies engaged in the restoration work especially at Sherbibi, Panthyal, Khooni Nalla, Gangroo, Mehad, Samroli, Modh Passi, Kheri etc.
The concerned officials were thoroughly briefed and emphasized for early completion of restoration work so that smooth flow of traffic on the National Highway will be ensured. They were also urged to make all out efforts in making the National Highway through for two-way traffic.
The concerned officers assured that all the resources at their disposal will be mobilized and requisite works will be completed in a time bound manner for smooth flow of traffic on National Highway.
SSP Traffic, Rural Kashmir and SSP Traffic National Highway accompanied the IGP in their respective jurisdictions.
