IIIM wins Volleyball tourney

JAMMU, Mar 12: Indian Institute of Integrative Medicines (IIIM) won the volleyball tournament of the Centre Government Employees Welfare Coordination Committee (CGEWCC) held at RRL School grounds, here today.
In the final, IIIM defeated Survey of India (SOI) in straight sets of 25-15, 25-19. Earlier, in the semifinals, SOI trounced National Sample Survey Organisation (NSSO) in a closely contested game 2-0 (25-23, 25-21) and IIIM registered 2-1 (25-21, 16-25, 25-21) win against Centre Water Commission (CWC).
Earlier, the competition was declared open by Principal of RRL School, Jagdish Sharma, who was chief guest. He was accompanied by chairman of Sports Committee of CGEWCC, Jammu, BS Bhan. Also present were Rajinder Guupta, Mahesh Sharma, Shashi Jamwal and Sham Lal Tandotra.
“Today’s was the last event of first phase of the competitions. The other phase, wherein cricket tournament will be played, has been scheduled for April,” informed BS Bhan.
