SIRMAUR, Nov 20: The third edition of the annual business conclave of Indian Institute of Management Sirmaur was held here.
This conclave, titled “Udgam”, was organized by “Markaizen – The Marketing club” and “SCOPE – The Operations club” of IIM Sirmaur. The two-day conclave was a forum where academia met the industry and the corporate veterans accumulated their experience, expertise, and energy to bring forth solutions to modern-day business problems. This year’s theme of the conclave was “Envisioning the PhyGital Future”.
The event was inaugurated by chief guest of the conclave, Prof Neelu Rohmetra, Director IIM Sirmaur. The day one of the conclave was planned online as well as offline while the day two was in online mode only.
In her address, Prof Neelu Rohmetra reflected upon the journey of how ‘Udgam’ became an integral part of the institution from its inception. She shared her perspectives on the theme of the event “Envisioning the PhyGital Future”. She advised students to be more responsible for their values while finding solutions to the complex problems in any organization. She emphasized upon the quality of contributions that a budding manager should aim while making larger difference in the society.
Later, in the first panel, Namita Tiwari (Senior Manager Digital & Content Marketing, Tata Communications), Ritesh Ghosal (Chief Growth Officer Aasnaa, Chief Growth Officer GRPS Labs And Growth Advisor Cutting Chai Technologies), Soumitra Dhankar (Solution Consulting Manager, Adobe India), Manan Shah (Director Marketing India, Truecaller) and Rohit Lamba (VP – Sales and Marketing & Head Branding, Jindal Steel & Power Limited) discussed on the topic “ The PhyGital way to serve customers – leveraging space, time and technology”.
In the second panel, Amod Vijayvargiya (Vice President & Global Operations Leader, Genpact), Ashok Sinha (Supply Chain Director, Cummins Inc – India Engine Business), Radhika Kalia (Managing Director, Reverse Logistics Group), Munishwar Srivastava (Associate Vice President, Wow! Momo Foods Pvt Ltd), Ramkesh Jangra (Head of Supply chain – SCC, Ericsson), discussed on the topic “Operating PhyGitally – new, norm or necessity?”.
The event was a breath of fresh air for the students of IIM Sirmaur being the first offline event organized after the pandemic. Throughout the conclave, the panelists discussed various topics ranging from digitization, technological advancement, the potential of PhyGital world and the future of the current corporate world. All the speakers offered very unique and intuitive perspectives on the Marketing and Operations Industry and how they are transforming phygitally.
