JAMMU, Apr 21: Ikrant Sharma, a member of the Panel Council of the Supreme Court of India, has been unanimously elected as the chairman of the Divyang Cricket Control Board of India (CCBI).
He was elected in the meeting of Divyang Cricket Control Board of India which was held today through online, in which all the members present unanimously elected him as the chairman of Board. Prior to this, Sharma has also been the chairman of the ‘Disabled Sporting Society’, which operates the Indian Divyang-Jan Cricket team and establishes disabled cricket across Asia and was also the senior vice president of the All India Cricket Association for Physical Challenge Umbrella Committee made on the instructions of the BCCI.
“This is social work and every effort will be made to make people with disabilities mentally strong and self-satisfied by giving them the opportunity to play at international level through cricket,” Ikrant Sharma said.
