BHADERWAH, May 14: Continuing its tirade against forest land encroachers, a team from Forest Division Bhaderwah dismantled four illegally constructed structures at Padri in Neeru Forest Range.
The team was led by DFO Bhaderwah TB Singh under the supervision of MP Dogra, Conservator of Forest Chenab Circle.
These structures were constructed by the locals and were to be used for commercial purposes during the coming summer season thus spoiling the landscape of Padri where people throng during summer for amusement purpose.
There was stiff resistance from the owners of the sheds but the forest staff overpowered them.
A case under the relevant section of the forest act has been registered against the accused persons.
DFO Bhaderwah issued strict instructions to the concern field staff to remain vigilant against any such attempt of encroachment and take prompt and timely action. Any leniency shown by the field staff will be dealt with iron hand, he asserted.
