DODA, June 11: A Police Party from Police Station Dessa and adjoining Police Pickets while on area domination and patrolling in upper ridges seized illicit timber in forest area of Linga Dhar Dessa which was extracted from there after cutting down green trees.
Upon this a case in FIR No. 06/2023 under relevant sections of law has been registered and investigation started.
It is pertinent to mention here that Police has launched a special drive at Police Station level against timber smugglers to save the green gold and till date many FIRs have been registered and huge quantity of illicit timber seized in forest areas of Chiralla Thathri, Marmat, Bhaderwah and Dessa.
