Srinagar, Aug 25: Police today said it have seized illicit timber during night patrolling in Tangchiter area of Kangan in Ganderbal district.
A police spokesman said that during night patrolling, police intercepted a Maruti car without number plates in Tangchiter area of Kangan. “Taking advantage of the darkness the driver fled from the spot leaving behind his car. While checking the car, 25 pieces of timber planks were recovered from the vehicle,” he said.
The spokesman said that police seized the vehicle as well as the timber and registered a case in this regard. The investigation of the case is going on, he added.
