JAMMU, Apr 10: The Inter-Media Publicity Coordination Committee meeting was held today at Doordarshan Kendra here to discuss various issues of creating awareness among masses about policies and plans of the government. The Director News, Radio and Doordarshan, Srinagar, Bashir Malik chaired the meeting.
Addressing the officers, the Chairman emphasized on better coordination among various State and Central media units in the State to highlight various schemes initiated by the Central and State Governments for the benefit of the people. He said special programmes on these schemes should be mounted by the media units to educate the people about these schemes.
Mr Malik also underlined the importance of feedback from the people regarding operation of such schemes at the grass root level.
The Director Information Zafar Ahmad assured all possible help from the State Government to the Central Government media units in carrying out awareness programmes in the state.
Among others the Director Radio Kashmir Srinagar Bashir Arif and Regional Director Nehru Yuva Kendra Navin Naik also gave suggestions to further strengthen the coordination a among various media units.
