JAMMU, Apr 11: Sainik Samaj Party president for JKUT, Col (Retd) S S Pathania has expressed his grave concern and worries on the deplorable and pathetic condition of road from Patnitop to Sanasar, one of the most exquisite and beautiful tourist destination in Jammu region.
In a press statement issued here Col Pathania said that the pre-requisite for a station to develop are is road connectivity, parking space and facilities for boarding and lodging, but sadly all these things are missing in Sanasar. He said Sanasar, with its altitude, pristine beauty, lake with boating facilities, huge avenues for adventure sports and tulip garden, has the potential of developing as tourist heaven.
“Successive, Kashmir centric Governments, over a period of 75 years, gave a step-motherly treatment to Sanasar, and local leadership of Jammu also failed in its obligations towards people of Jammu region. Efforts being taken now by the Lt Governor’s administration and Tourism department are praise worthy, but much more is desirable on fast track to give Sanasar, what it deserves,” Col Pathania said.
Sainik Samaj Party leader pointed out that inauguration of Tulip Garden by Lt Governor is of a great significance and will provide fresh impetus towards, optimal development of Sanasar as a favourite destination for tourists from all over India. A nine hole golf course, will be huge attraction for golf lovers and sports persons, having the thrill of playing on an altitude of more than 7000 feet.
“Pathetic road and its maintenance can be truly gauged by the fact that Lt Governor was taken to Sanasar on a helicopter rather than a picturesque drive amidst the grandeur of nature and also interacting with the people. A good road properly maintained will not only attract the tourist and weekend commuters from JKUT but also mitigate the sufferings of people living in and around Sanasar besides creating sufficient parking space and ensure better water supply there,” he added.
Col Pathania requested the Lt Governor to take a holistic view and implement fast track measures, to bring in the desired improvements based on a clearly laid time-bound road map.
