JAMMU, FEBRUARY 2: Minister for Sports, Youth Services and Technical Education, Molvi Imran Raza Ansari today congratulated Jammu and Kashmir cricket team for winning three consecutive matches in Syed Mushtaq Ali T20 tournament against Punjab, Himachal Pradesh and Haryana.
The Minister in his congratulatory message to the team wished them success for qualifying for the knock-out-stages.
“I am very hopeful that our boys will qualify the knock-out-stage and will get to play pre-quarter,” he said and hailed the performance of young players Shivam Khajuria, Manzoor Dar, Pranav Gupta, Umar Nazir and others.
On the occasion, Mithun Manhas, coach cum player of the team said there is tie in points between Delhi, Punjab and J&K after winning three matches each.
“The team selected for playing pre-quarter will be decided on net run rate of the team and will then qualify the knock-out stage,” he said.
The Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy is a T-20 cricket domestic championship, organized by Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), among the teams from Ranji Trophy.
The 2008-09 season was the inaugural season for this trophy. It is named after a famous Indian cricketer, Syed Mushtaq Ali.
