JAMMU, May 5: Institute of Management Sciences (IMS) organized a one day national conference on “Emerging Trends in Management, Economics & IT”.
The conference was inaugurated by the chief guest, Prof R D Sharma, Vice Chancellor, University of Jammu, Jammu while the keynote address were delivered by Prof Alka Sharma of JU Business School, Prof B B Goyal, HoD Business School, Punjab University Chandigarh and Prof Pawnesh Abrol of JU.
Prof R D Sharma, in his inaugural address, hoped the deliberations in the conference shall create a better understanding and insight amongst the participants to tackle the problems of present day business world.
Prof. Alka Sharma laid emphasis on relevance of information technology on the emerging business in the present day world. She further clarified the present trends as artificial intelligence (IAI) and User Interface (UI); Ecosystem; Power Plans; Workforce Market; Designs for Humans and Unchartered (Transactions and Transformation) while as Prof. B B Goyal delivered thought provoking keynote address on ‘Newage Business Drives’ and adopting a new concept of segmentation of market known as “Blue Ocean Strategy’.
Prof. Pawnesh Abrol s apprised the participants with the Immersive Technology (Augment Reality and Virtual Reality and related aspects). He further shared that the new technology in the information sector would be extensively used in agriculture (Village Knowledge Centre) and Cloud Technology.
Dr S K Gupta, Director, IQAC presented the welcome in the inaugural function, which was also graced by Jai Kumar Sharma, Director Colleges Development Council (CDC), JU; Prof Anil Mittal, Dept. of Economics Chitkara University, Chandigrah; Prof Nikhal Gupta, BGSBU, Rajouri; Dr Harinder Singh, Amritsar College of Engg & Tech; Prof. Sameer Gupta, JU; Dr Kakali Majumdar, SMVDU, Katra; Dr Suresh Kumar, Hosharpur Punjab; Dr. Farhan Abedi, AMU, Aligarh and other distinguished guests from other universities, Govt. Degree colleges, and eminent academicians and research scholars.
A vote of thanks for the inaugural session was given by Dr Purnima Bakshi, Asstt. Prof. IMS.
The valedictory function was chaired by Prof Keshav Sharma, Registrar, JU. Prof Kakli Majumdar, Head Department of Economics, SMVDU, Dr Harinder Singh from Amritsar College of Engineering & Technology, Amritsar and Sunil Gupta, Vice president, J&K Bank, Zonal Office, Jammu were also present on the occasion.
