Ultra Flag 100 Challenge
*7 runners, 47 cyclists from J&K achieve the feat

JAMMU, Nov 24: Around 400 legendary runners and cyclists of India ran/rode 100 kilometres with National Flag in their respective cities/towns across the country under Flag 100 Challenge Run/Ride and created a world record by completing the challenge in cut off time of 20 hours.
In total, 415 people participated in this virtual event which was organized by Indian Flag Runners and supported by Bathinda Runners. While 241 riders participated in cycling challenge, 174 participated in running event for world record attempt. Both Run/Ride started on 22 November at 12 AM and culminated at 11:59 PM on same day.
In a great feat for Jammu, seven runners and 47 cyclists from Jammu province participated in 100 Km Run/Ride Challenge and successfully completed it within cut off time of 20 hours. While 6 runners participated in the Run Challenge from Jammu district, one was from Kathua Runners.
While two woman runners, Seema and Sindhu Sharma completed the challenge in 20 and 13.43 hours respectively, Varinder Sharma (26) completed the challenge in 14.43 hours and Abhishek Gupta (40) in 14.32 hours. Sixty-seven year-old Tarsem Lal and 63-year-old Rajesh Padha also successfully completed the challenge in 20 and 14.32 hours, respectively.
Cyclists from J&K who completed the feat are Sudhir Anand, Sukreet Gupta, Anil Kumar Sharma, Vishal Khajuria, Dewakar Sharma, Animesh Tiwari, Kanupriya Garg, Vikram Garg, Tejbir Singh, Tarsam Lal Basotra, Rahil Gupta, Harpyas Singh, Chandan Gupta, Rajesh Sharma, Kuldeep Gupta, Kunal Chib, Neeraj Rohmetra, Vijay Sharma, Vikas Sharma, Vikram Thakur, Balwinder Singh, Suresh Kumar Gupta, Robin Raina, Manish Pathania, Puneet Gupta, Rajesh Kumar, Rajan Malhotra, Mineesh Gulati, Sharat Sharma, BVS Venugopal, Rohit Makhnotra, Vasudha Samnotra, Shaheen Samnotra, Sham Suri, Pranav Mahajan, Rakesh Vaid, Pardeep Kumar Sharma, Ranjeet Kapoor, Amit Gupta, Abhi Mahajan, Anil Gupta, Rohit Gupta, Mayank Aggarwal, Vikram Paul Singh, Arush Mahajan, Ankit Gupta, Tanishq and Vikram Gulati.
In a medal ceremony held at Jammu, Inspector General of J&K Police Jammu Mukesh Singh presented medals to finishers of 100 Km Flag Run from Jammu.
As it was a virtual event, all the runners/riders had to submit GPS record of the run/ride besides photos and short videos of the run/ride to Indian Flag Runners for International Book of Records.
All the successful ultra flag runners and riders will appear on IBR Website for life time. Besides, all the ultra runners/riders name will appear on 2020 IBR Book, Social sites and Indian Flag Runners page and website.
