India-Pak spat

Pakistan has apparently returned to her old antics of raising Kashmir issue at national or international platforms irrespective of the fact whether the time and occasion suite raising of the issue or not. The UN General Assembly session is on, and Pakistan has once again tried to harangue international community on Kashmir by bringing all sorts of accusations to the doorsteps of India.  It is Pakistan’s culture to play up Kashmir whenever she is domestically in a tight position. Therefore the roots of Pakistan’s frustration have to be sought in her current domestic situation instead of raking Kashmir conundrum.
The current situation in that country promises no relief and relaxation from accumulated tension over months and years. It is of Pakistan’s choosing. Ever since Islamabad chose to become the cradle of terrorism and fundamentalism, and has been going about lionizing her bravado, she is oblivious of the repercussion of a dangerous policy like that. The war in Khyber Pukhtunkhwa has been raging with all intensity; every day scores of people are getting killed. The Army claims to be in a commanding situation but at the same time takes the count of killed and wounded soldiers as an alarm for the integrity of the country. The effort of some sections of the ruling circles in Pakistan to negotiate a settlement with the insurgents in KP has yielded no result just because the army wants to have a peace deal on her conditions and not on the conditions of the elected government. Pakistani Taliban have established closer and more meaningful links with the Afghan Taliban, and in the recently fought battle for Kunduz in Afghanistan, the TTP had a significant role. The Americans and the NATO, both have taken due notice of this situation.
The ground situation in Baluchistan is worsening day by day. Baluch opposition has made dent in the international community and their supportive NGOs have very forcefully raised the issue of separation of Baluchistan at Human Rights organizations. Pakistan’s own NGOs are regularly highlighting the atrocities of Pak army and security forces in Baluchistan. More recently, Sind nationalists have once again raised their voice after being silenced by state machinery for some time. “Khap Pakistan” slogan meaning Pakistan is not acceptable is raised all over Sind. There is threat of disruption of civil administration in Sind also.
This is the scenario now meeting the eye in Pakistan. The TTP have become a law unto them self and they are dictating terms to Islamabad government. Lashkar-i-Taiyyaba, a banned militant organization, is virtually become the steal arm of Pakistan army as it receives full patronage from the top brass in olive green. This has turned into a rogue legion, which runs its own agenda irrespective of what the State policy is. The world knows and has recorded evidence that LeT has openly declared jihad against India in Kashmir. Numerous terrorist groups are the creation of Pakistan and its ISI which have now turned tables on their mentors and become uncontrollable. Who does not know that Pakistan is the cradle of terrorism and fundamentalism? Tens of thousands of religious seminaries called madrasahs churn out hundreds of thousands of young students indoctrinated with anti-India hatred and made to pledge for waging armed struggle inside Indian territory. In Kashmir their infiltration remains unabated.
Pakistani representative at the UN General Assembly has been crying hoarse that India does not allow the Kashmir separatists to meet their mission officials in New Delhi. We know the purpose for which these separatists have been meeting. We would like to ask Pakistan why it not invites the Baluch separatists to talks and consultations because they have been fighting for their political, civil and human rights for last seven decades and have suffered heavy losses in terms of leadership. Why should not charity begin at home in the case of Pakistanis? Why is Pakistan silent over the atrocities perpetrated on the people of Gilgit and Baltistan? They have been subjected to demographic changes in which the local Shia population is reduced to minority status by settling Sunnis from KP like Swat and Chitral. Only recently, the world saw the footage showing Pakistani occupational forces in PoK beating and brutalizing demonstrators who were accusing their government of playing in the hands of Pakistani masters and neglecting their rights.
India has been telling Pakistan repeatedly to shun violence and terror and sit around a table and talk business. What more proof of Pakistan’s full involvement in fostering international terrorism is there than the presence of late Osama bin Ladan at a stone’s throw from GHQ? What more proof does the world want to be satisfied that Pakistan is patronizing terror and terrorists by shielding them on their soil? Pakistan should forget about Kashmir and attend to her domestic ailments before she has to face another split which will mean total effacing of Pakistan from the map of Asia.
