Indian Oil ensures availability of petro products in flood affected areas of Uttrakhand, HP

JAMMU, June 25: In the wake of the unprecedented flash-flood and landslides, which devastated most parts of the Uttrakhand State, Indian Oil Corporation has made all arrangements to ensure uninterrupted supply of petroleum products in the affected areas and fuel for the relief teams of the Indian Army, Air Force, ITBP, Border Roads Organisation and other organizations engaged in the rescue operations.
“Indian Oil has also positioned adequate stocks of all vital petroleum products, including petrol, diesel, kerosene and LPG at various places in the region”, said N Srikumar, Executive Director, Corporate Communications and Branding, Indian Oil.
Indian oil also moved mobile aviation refuellers over long distances in inhospitable terrain and positioned them at Joshimath, Dharasu, Bageshwar, Pitoragarh, Gauchar and Sahastradhara (Dehradun) in Uttrakhand, besides at Rampur and Shimla in Himachal Pradesh, to ensure faster refueling of the choppers, which are taking part in the relief operations, he added.
Since commencement, over 350 refuellings of choppers have been carried out by the Indian Oil and about 250 kilolitres of Aviation Turbine Fuel (ATF) has been delivered to the helicopters involved in the rescue sorties. Back up supplies of 300 kilolitres have also been arranged for these mobile refuellers to ensure uninterrupted availability of ATF to the Indian Defence Forces, he informed.
Indian Oil has also rushed LPG refill cylinders to the LPG distributors in the affected areas from its LPG Bottling Plant at Haridwar and Haldwani, he added.
