JAMMU, Dec 13: To promote Indian style wrestling, the general council of Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) has decided to organize the 1st edition of Senior Men Free Indian Style National Wrestling Championship.
According to the handout issued by Ajay Vaid, General Secretary, J&K Wrestling Association, the Championship will be organized by Sahyadri Kusti Sankul, Pune at Pune (Maharastra) from on December 29 and 30.
Vaid informed that in this context, J&K Wrestling Association is going to conduct selection trials of 6 willing wrestlers in different weight categories–57, 65, 74, 86, 97 and 125 kgs) are required for their participation in 1st Edition of aforesaid Indian Style wrestling at Bajrangi Akhara Shalamar Road Jammu on December 16 at 0900 hours sharp.
The wrestlers not below 20 years have to report to Jai Bharat, NIS Qualified Coach (9719024777), Dheeraj Sharma Coach (9797585822) and Om Parkash, NIS Coach (9797596802) well in time for their further selection in the aforesaid championship. The wreslers have to bring 2 passport size photographs and Aadhar Card with them, otherwise they will not be allowed to participate in the selection trials, Ajay Vaid added.
