Sir,
This has reference to news item, ‘India, China hold Spl Border Personnel meet in Leh’ DE May 2, 2018.
It is good to see that India China relations are slowly coming back on the track after they turned sour during Dokhlam standoff. The relations worsened to the extent that people feared that war may break out between the two countries. The credit for stopping the war goes to the sensible diplomacy of the Modi Government that maintained calm and showed maturity during this crucial moment. Had war broken out between the two powerful countries, it would have created mayhem and mass destruction in both the countries.
It is in the interest of both the countries to have cordial relations. This will strengthen economic, cultural and educational bonds necessary for upliftment of poverty stricken masses.
Besides, maintaining peace on borders will reduce trust deficit that is there between the two countries. The Indo-China relations have also international dimension. There will be then no scope left for other world powers to meddle in the affairs of the region.
We expect that the relations will improve further in coming days.
Yours etc….
