Industrial Complex Bari Brahmana turns into garbage dump

JAMMU, Aug 1: An urgent meeting of Bari Brahmana Industries Association (BBIA) was held under the chairmanship of its president Lalit Mahajan for discussing the situation risen out because of the worst condition of drainage system during the current rainy season in the Bari Brahmana Industrial Complex.
The Association members said that in the current monsoon, rains even for 30 minutes turn the whole industrial complex into garbage dump. Due to blockage of drains and culverts, the rain water enters in to the premises of number of units located in the complex resulting damage to the infrastructure of the industrial units and huge losses, they explained.
They alleged that the Estate Department of J&K SIDCO has failed to deploy the requisite work force through the contractors for the cleaning of the lanes/drains in the complex, repair of damaged/blocked culverts in spite of the facts that lakhs of rupees are annually spent by SIDCO for the cleaning in the industrial complex.
Stressing that it was the need of the hour to take immediate steps for the restoration of damaged roads, drains, culverts and cleaning of main drains on war footing basis, the Association urged the Managing Director J & K SIDCO to issue the necessary directions in this regard.
The meeting was attended by Tarun Singla (Sr Vice President), Ajay Langer (Vice President), Viraaj Malhotra (General Secretary), Rajesh Jain (Secretary), Vivek Singhal (Treasurer) and other members of the BBIA.
