JAMMU, Sept 28: Inian P of Tamilnadu emerged clear leader with 8.5 points in 41th National Sub Junior Chess Tournament, being held at Jalsa Retreat Domana, here.
He was closely followed by Kumar Gaurav of Bihar, Mitrabaha Guha of W.Bengal at 8 points each, while Priyanka Nutakki emerged clear leader in girls section by defeating Vaishali R of Tamilnadu in one of the most thrilling encounter today.
She was followed by Aakansha Hagwane of Maharashtra, Priyanka K and Vaishali R of Tamilnadu at 7.5 points each.
The tournament is being organized by All J&K Chess Association on behalf of All India Chess Federation and being sponsored by J&K State Sports Council.
Final rounds will be played tomorrow in both the sections.
Secretary J&K State Sports council Jenab Jawaid Ahmed Shah will be the chief guest on the occasion.
All the matches were played under the supervision of Atul Kumar Gupta President “All J&K Chess Association”.
This is the selection tournament for World Youth Chess Olympiad, besides top six players from boys and girls will be sent for exposure trips of Spain and Russia.
Nitin Shenvi from Maharashtra is the chief arbiter of this event. He is supported by six deputy Arbiters for smooth conduct of this event.
184 players from 26 States alongwith 150 coaches managers and accompaning persons are participating in the said event.This is the biggest  chess event ever organized in the history of J&K State.
