Injured in lathicharge villager lands in GMC

NOWSHERA, Sept 22: Injured seriously in police lathi-charge during protest at Siot Morh, a villager Mohan Lal has landed into GMC Hospital as his condition deteriorated.
The family members alleged that  Mohan Lal was injured as police lathi hit him on the head. He had received deep injury and was detained by police at Sunderbani Police Station along with others. Police denied him treatment despite his request on Saturday. Today, as his condition deteriorated and he got fainted in custody the cops shifted him to Sunderbani hospital. The doctors wanted to shift him to Jammu but with the intervention of  police he was taken to Nowshera. The doctors referred him to GMC Hospital Jammu in view of his deteriorating condition.
The senior police officers avoided to comment but one of them maintained that Mohan Lal  was alright and had injury on wrist. He must have some old history of illness.
It may be recalled that people were protesting against the alleged killings of two sisters and a police constable at Kalakote recently, demanding CBI inquiry into the matter. They were raising slogans against Rajouri police for protecting guilty, including SHO Kalakote. The protesters tried to block Jammu-Rajouri highway and police resorted to lathi-charge on them to clear the highway.
