JAMMU, July 23: Principal Secretary, Home, RK Goyal today ordered an inquiry against IPS officer of 2004 batch Atul Kumar Goel, presently posted as SP in the National Investigating Agency (NIA) under All India Services (Discipline and Appeal) Rules. Goel had also served as SSP of Jammu and Kathua districts before proceeding on deputation to the NIA.
VK Singh, Additional DGP Security has been appointed as the Inquiry Officer to conduct inquiry into the charges framed against Goel and served to him by the Home Department on May 18 this year.
Anuj Gupta, Senior Prosecuting Officer, Police Headquarters, will be the Prosecuting Officer in the inquiry.
Goyal has asked the Inquiry Officer to complete the inquiry and submit report to the Home Department within 60 days.
