JAMMU, May 25: Creating history by becoming the first women badminton player from Jammu and Kashmir Police, Inspector Basanti Bhat has been selected to represent the country in the World Masters International Badminton Championships-2019 to be held at Katowice in Poland from August 4 to 11, 2019.
The Championship will be organised by Badminton World Federation (BWF).
Basanti, Inspector J&K Police and Member of Jammu Masters Badminton Committee (JMBC), was selected by the National selectors in the trials held at Guwahati, Assam on May 19, 2019.
She will leave for Poland alongwith Indian Badminton contingent on July 31, 2019.
