JAMMU, Dec 29: Sangram Sena today demanded installation of statue of Mehar Chand Mahajan on Old Janipur Chowk, which has been named as Mehar Chand Mahajan Chowk.
The demand was raised in a meeting of the Sangram Sena held here today under the chairmanship of its State president, Ram Rattan Raina.
Addressing the meeting, Raina said that it is due to the efforts of Sena that Old Janipur Chowk, leading to High Court Complex has been named as Mehar Chand Mahajan Chowk. He urged the Deputy Chief Minister, Dr Nirmal Singh, to install a statue of Mehar Chand Mahaajan, on the Chowk.
The issue of development of Mubarak Mandi and other heritage places also figured in the meeting.
