Installation, Painting competition witnesses large participation at JU

JAMMU, Sept 21: The third day of the ongoing Inter-Collegiate/Departmental ‘Display Your Talent 2012-13’, being organized by the Department of Students Welfare, University of Jammu witnessed large participation in Installation and Painting competitions, here.
Prof NK Tripathi, Dean Students Welfare and Prof Jasbir Singh, Chairman, Campus Cultural Committee applauded the talent of participants and distributed the prizes amongst the winners.
In Installation Competition,   the team from Department of Commerce consisting of Divya Mahajan and Rimpla Kumari was adjudged as first. The Team from Govt Women College, Parade including Shivani Anand and Anjuman Ayub and Kanesh Panotra, single participant from Institute of Music and Fines Arts, Jammu bagged the Second and Third prizes respectively.
The Certificates of Merit were awarded to Anshul Gupta and Tarun Sharma from Govt MAM College, Jammu and Kamaljeet Singh and Shruti Khajuria from Department of Library and Information, Science, University of Jammu.
The adjudicators for the Installation event were Brij Pal Anand, Jagpal Singh Bandral and Vikas Dogra while Suman Gupta, Vijay Anand and Dr Sanjana Koul, were the experts to assess the performance of the participants in Painting.
In painting competition, the experts did not recommend anyone for the First Prize. However Pushkin Kainth from Institute of Music and Fine Arts, Jammu bagged the Second Prize whereas Rimpla Kumari from Department of Commerce, University of Jammu was adjudged as third.
Tania Gupta from MBS College of Engg. & Tech, Jammu, Mehreen Akhtar from Govt. Women College, Parade and Shikha Singh from Department of Mathematics, University of Jammu were awarded the Certificates of Merit.
Eminent Artist Suman Gupta also delivered an illuminating lecture on Painting.
The topics for the Painting Competition were “The Flute Player”, “The Tree Grove” and “The Kite Seller”.
Dr Sarbjeet Kour and Dr Sanjay Sharma, were the Teacher-in-charges for the Installation & Painting Competitions, respectively. They acquainted the participants with the Rules and Regulations of the  contests. The proceeding were conducted by Divya Mahajan and Anshu Bala, Joint Secretaries, SCC.
The contests were managed by Gurpal Singh, Kulbushan Thakur, Balwant Singh Slathia and S.S.Bhalla.
Among others Dr Shailendra Singh, Associate Dean (SW), Dr Meghna Dhar, Nidhi Kaila and  Harmeet Kaur were also present.
