Institutions organise functions on ‘Christmas’

JAMMU, Dec 22: Different education institutions organised various functions on the occasion of Christmas, here today.
Delhi Public School Jammu celebrated Christmas with great zeal and enthusiasm by organizing a fun filled special assembly, wherein Dr Ritu Singh, Pro-vice chairperson DPS Jammu was the chief guest, while SS Sodhi, Director, DPS Jammu was the guest of honour. The students ushered the Christmas spirit with soul stirring rendition of age old carols and nativity scenes showcasing the birth of Lord Jesus.
They beautifully created a sequence of scenes reminiscing the events related to Virgin Mary and the birth of Jesus Christ. This enactment was enlivened by enthusiastic fairies, shepherds, lamb and around 200 Carol singers dressed in attractive attires.
Junior DPS Trikuta Nagar, governed by Choudhary Charitable Trust also held a function to celebrate Christmas, which started with a welcome address of guests and parents. The students were dressed up as Santa Claus, Reindeer, Star and Snow White during the event.
The function was also organised by Bethel Living Word School Qasim Nagar to mark the birthday of Jesus Christ in the School premises, wherein students performed various cultural programs. A traditional skit highlighting the birth story of Jesus was also staged. Sharad Kalu SDPO North was the chief guest of the event.
Alexander Memorial Higher Secondary School celebrated the Christmas with usual solemnity and gaiety, wherein the whole campus was tastefully decorated with buntings, X’mas tree, Symbolic stars and Santa-Clauses. The students staged a play “Jeena Isi Ka Naam Hai” by depicting a family who wants to instil in their children that sharing is caring and so together they decide to celebrate with the children admitted in the wards of the hospital.
