JAMMU, Oct 5: Inter-Army Public Schools cluster (I) Girls Basketball Competition, organised by Army Public School BD Bari got underway, here this evening.
7 Army Public Schools of the Cluster (I) are participating in the event. These schools included APS BD Bari, APS Samba, APS Kaluchak, APS Ratnuchak, APS Jammu Cantt, APS Miran Sahib and APS Damana.
The competition was declared open by Brig Kabindra Singh, Chairman of APS BD Bari.
The programme began with the oath taking ceremony taken by the players of various schools present, pledging total sincerity in the conduct and devotion while playing the game.
In the league matches, the first match was played between APS Miran Sahib and APS Kaluchak. APS Kaluchak won by 32:03, in the second match, APS BD Bari prevailed upon APS Ratnuchak by 18:08, while APS Damana defeated APS Jammu Cantt by 21:07 and APS BD Bari girls trounced APS Miran Sahib by 42:08.
Meanwhile, in the matches played today, APS Ratnuchak scripted a thrilling win over APS Kaluchak by one point (16 : 15), APS Damana beat APS Samba by 40 : 13, APS Ratnuchak thrashed APS Miran Sahaib by 37 : 03, APS BD Bari drubbed APS Kaluchak by 38 : 11 and APS Jammu Cantt defeated APS APS Samba by (24 : 13).
