JAMMU, Sept 18: The closing ceremony of Inter-Battalion (Ops)/Group Centres Lawn Tennis Competition of Jammu Sector, organized in the GC CRPF Jammu, concluded here today.
TN Khutiya, DIGP, Jammu and Kashmir Zone was the chief guest of the closing ceremony, while Rakesh Sethi, DIGP, Rakesh Dhakarwal, DIGP, Dhirender Verma, Comdt., Sunand Kumar, Comdt., PC Gupta, Commandant, Group Centre Jammu and Sumit Verma, Dy. Commandant, GC Jammu were also present with their teams.
The Lawn Tennis competition was organised in this Group Centre as per directions received from Directorate General CRPF, New Delhi to motivate Officer/Jawans towards sports events. In this competition, Jammu Sector, Range Jammu, Hiranagar Range, Jammu North, GC Jammu, CH and 38 Bn participated.
The winner and runner up teams were awarded with trophies by the chief guest TN Khutiya, DIGP, Jammu and Kashmir Zone.
In open double, Rajesh Dhakarwal, DIGP, Jammu North/ Dhirender Verma, Comdt., 38 Bn were winners, while TN Khuntia, DIGP, J&K Zone/Dr M Nakkiran (MO/DIGP), CH Jammu, were the runner-up, while in double event, the winners were Sunand Kumar, Comdt. Jammu Sector and Kanhaya Singh, 2-I/C, Jammu Sector, whereas Dhirender Verma, Comdt., 38 Bn and Sanjay Mohanty, Dy. Comdt. 38 Bn were the runners up.
In the single event, Dhirender Verma, Comdt., 38 Bn emerged winner, while Rajesh Dhakarwal, DIGP, Jammu North was runner up.
The competition was organized under the leadership of Rakesh Sethi, DIGP, Jammu Range, CRPF in which PC Gupta, (Commandant), Sumit Verma, Dy. Commandant, GC Jammu and other Gazetted Officers, Subordinate Officers and Jawans also lend their support.
