Inter-Collegiate Basketball C’ship held

JAMMU, Oct 27: Cluster University of Jammu organised Inter-Collegiate Basketball (Men & Women) tournaments at MA Stadium here today.
Prof. (Dr.) Naveen Anand, Dean Academic Affairs, Cluster University of Jammu was the chief guest on the occasion. The tournament was organised under the supervision of Ramandeep Kralia, Physical Director GCOE Jammu under the overall supervision of Dr. Vinod Bakshi, Director Sports, and Cluster University of Jammu.
In the Women’s  section 1st match was played between  GGM Science College and GCW, Gandhi Nagar  in  which GCW Gandhi  Nagar  won  with a narrow margin  of 12-08 points and entered in the final. Tejaswini Khajuria of GGM Science College played an excellent game and scored 08 points. Anamika Sharma played very well and got 6 points for GCW Gandhi Nagar.
In the 2nd match Govt. SPMR College got a walkover against Govt. MAM College and entered in the Final.
In the Men’s section the 1st match was played between GGM Science College and Govt. SPMR College of Commerce in which GGM Science College beat Govt. SPMR College of Commerce with a huge margin of 45-17 points and entered into the final.
Aniket Chib of GGM Science College & Rhythm Mahajan of Govt. SPMR College of Commerce played an excellent game and scored 14 & 10 Points respectively.  In the 2nd match Govt. MAM College got a walkover against GCOE, Jammu and entered in the Final.
Prof. Satish Sharma & Prof. Deep of GCOE Jammu, Aijaz Malik, Physical Director Govt. SPMR College of Commerce, Dr. Roopali Slathia, Physical Director GCW Gandhi Nagar Jammu, and Neenu Sawhney, Physical Director Govt. MAM College Jammu were among the various dignitaries present during the occasion. The matches were officiated by Amit Kalsi, Vineet Pangotra, Rajesh Bandral and Mansi Verma.
