Jammu, Oct 10: In an ongoing Inter-Collegiate Chess (M&W) Championship 2023-24, organized by the Directorate of Sports and Physical Education, University of Jammu in which various matches were held at Gymnasium Hall, here today.
In men’s section; GCET Jammu beat GDC Doda by (3-1) points, MIET Jammu beat GDC Ramnagar by (3-1) points, GDC Bhaderwah beat GDC Thannamandi by (4-0) points, GDC Nowshera beat GDC Bishnah by (3.5- 2.5) points.
GDC Kathua best GDC R.S. Pura by (3-1) points and GDC Udhampur beat GDC Purmandal by (4-0) points. While in the Women section; GMC Rajouri beat MIER Jammu by (3.5-0.5) points, GDC Poonch beat GDC Kathua by (3-1) points; PG Department Jammu University beats GCW Kathua by (3.5-0.5) points.
The matches were conducted under the supervision of Dr. Daud Iqbal Baba Director Directorate of Sports and Physical Education, University of Jammu and officiated by S. P Sharma, SushilSawhney, Inderjeet Singh and Padam Dev Singh. Tomorrow the pre quarter final matches of the men section and quarter final matches of women section will be played.
