JAMMU, Aug 23: The Directorate of Sports and Physical Education, University of Jammu, organized Inter-Collegiate Cross Country (Women) Championship 2017-18 at Jammu University Campus here in which 16 athletes from 9 affiliated Colleges of the University participated.
Narmita of GCW Gandhi Nagar clinched gold medal by completing the race in 33:12 minutes, while Sakshi Rajput of GDC Samba and Skalzang Dolma of GCW Gandhi Nagar stood 2nd and 3rd in the race in 33:58 minutes and 34:32 minutes respectively.
Dr Meenakshi Kilam, Registrar, University of Jammu flagged off the race along with Prof Avtar Singh Jasrotia, Director, Directorate of Sports and Physical Education, University of Jammu.
Other dignitaries present on the occasion were Prof JPS Joorel, Prof Parkash C. Anthal, Prof Vinay Chouhan, Prof Satya Pal, Dr Vinod Bakshi GCW.Udhampur, Sumnesh Sharma GDC Samba, Dr Sumit Dubey GDC Kathua, Pardeep GDC Kathua, Manish Charak GDC Paloura and Shazad Ali GDC Bishnah.
