JAMMU, Jan 18: The inter-collegiate Handball (Men & Women) tournament commenced today at Handball Court University of Jammu, organized by the JU’s Directorate of Sports and Physical Education, here today.
In the opening match, GDC Kathua team defeated Dogra Law College by 19-6, while GDC Kunjwani team beat GDC Paloura by 15-4, GDC Akhnoor team trounced MIET by 14-5, besides in women’s section, GCW Parade got better of GDC Akhnoor by 5-2.
Dr Daud Iqbal Baba, Director, Directorate of Sports and Physical Education, University of Jammu was the chief guest of the opening match and interacted with both the team players before the start of the game.
Vimal Kishore, Gagan Kumar, Raj Kumar Bakshi, Vikas Karlopia, Ravish Vaid, Prof. Surinder Kumar, Dr Sukriti Sharma, Mukesh Sharma and others were present during the event.
The matches were officiated by Sudesh Kumar, Vinay Sharma, Gourav Sharma, Karun Magotra, Vipin Photra and Gourav Sharma.
