JAMMU, Oct 9: In the Inter Collegiate Hockey Tournament in Men’s section, four matches were played at KK Hakhu Stadium here today.
The first match was played between GDC Kathua and PG Law and Science teams of University of Jammu in which GDC Kathua beat the latter by 6-0 goals.
The first goal of the match was done by Tanvir Singh in the 3rd minute, 2nd goal by Abishek Sharma in the 7th minute, 3rd goal by Ramandeep Singh in the 8th minute, 4th goal by Rajjat Khajuria in the 25th minute, 5th goal by Sahil Bhadwal in the 55th minute and the 6th goal was scored by Raghav Singh Ponia in the 56th minute.
In the 2nd match, MAM College team defeated GDC Hiranagar by 2-1 goals. From MAM College, the 1st goal was scored by Gurtaj Singh in the 23rd minute while 2nd goal was done by Rammy Sharma in the 52nd minute.
The only goal for the GDC Hiranagar team was scored by Tarun Kumar in the 37th minute.
In the 3rd match, GDC Poonch thrashed GGM Science College by 2-1 goals. Gourav Raina of GDC Poonch scored both the goals for the team in the 4th and 47th minutes while the only goal for the GGM Science College team was scored by Ravijeet Singh in the 49th minute.
In the 4th match, MBS College of Engineering and Technology emerged winner which downplayed PG Arts team by 7-2 goals.
For MBS College, Navdeep Singh scored 1st goal in the 11th minute, Prabhjot Singh scored two goals in 18th and 51st minutes, Navleen Singh scored two goals in 21st and 35th minutes while Sarabjot Singh scored a goal in 28th minute and Amitpal Singh in 54th minute.
For PG Arts team both the goals were scored by Satwant Singh in the 34th and 41st minutes.
The matches were officiated by D Singh, Joginder Singh, Jagjit Singh, Jasbir Singh, Mukesh Sharma and PD Singh. The tournament is being organized by Directorate of Sports and Physical Education, University of Jammu.
Tomorrow both the semi-final matches of Men’ section would be played at 10 am and 11.30 am, respectively.
In Women’s section, the matches will be played from tomorrow.
Meanwhile, in the ongoing Inter Collegiate Basketball (Men) tournament 2014 – 15 in MA Stadium, SPMR College of Commerce beat GDC Kathua. The match was officiated by Rajesh Bandral and Sumit Dogra.
